Take a look back at Bellator 206: Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Wanderlei Silva.

What was the result of the highly anticipated rematch between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei Silva at Bellator 206?

On September 29th, 2018, two veterans of the MMA world, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Wanderlei Silva, faced off in a highly anticipated rematch at Bellator 206. The fight, which took place at SAP Center in San Jose, California, marked the fourth time these two fighters had fought each other in their careers.

The first time these fighters met was in Japan back in 2003, where Silva knocked out Jackson in the first round. After that loss, Jackson defeated Silva twice in a row, once in Pride Fighting Championships and again in the UFC. Now, fifteen years after their first meeting, the two fighters would once again meet in the cage and settle their rivalry once and for all.

From the opening bell, both fighters were aggressive and looking to land heavy blows. Jackson, known for his powerful punches, rushed forward, throwing hooks and trying to get inside Silva’s reach. Silva, on the other hand, kept his distance and used his kicks to keep Jackson at bay.

Despite Silva’s efforts, Jackson was able to close the distance and land a powerful punch to Silva’s head, sending him crashing to the mat. Silva was able to defend himself from Jackson’s subsequent ground and pound, but the damage had been done. The referee stepped in and stopped the fight, giving Jackson the TKO victory.

After the fight, Jackson didn’t hold back in expressing his feelings towards his opponent, saying, “I was so happy that I was able to shut this guy up. He talks so much trash about me. I think he should retire.”

Silva took the loss with grace and offered his congratulations to Jackson, saying, “He has heavy hands. He caught me with one punch, and that was it.”

The rematch between these two legends of the sport certainly lived up to its hype. Both fighters showed why they’ve been so highly regarded in the MMA world for so long, but it was Jackson who came out on top. With this win, Jackson has surely cemented his place as one of the greatest fighters in the sport’s history.
